Another valuable piece that caught my eye was the statue of Dionysus Herm. I enjoyed looking at it because of the colors, and the way it matched the walls of the museum. It is a statue, which belongs to the Roman Period in the 2nd and 4th centuries. It was found in 2012, near the Ulpiana site.
Moving on to the second floor, going up the stairs, you can see the real picture of Mother Theresa.
It was portrayed exactly as we all know her, a kind woman who gave her life to people in need. Seeing that picture gave me goosebumps and the work looked so real, that I felt like seeing her in person.
- Picture was taken by Rea Gashi
Now we're on the second floor. This floor belongs to the military equipment section. The weapons from ancient times, such as spears and pruning hooks, swords and sheaths, shields and helmets, guns and shotguns, and different types of dresses of the commanders and generals from the past ages are showcased. It was a thrilling experience, seeing all the equipment and attires of the past heroes of our nation was too inspiring for us.
After going to another part of the museum, you can see Kosovo's declaration of independence and also all the flags of the countries that helped us be independent. I felt so proud that our country is loved by so many powerful forces such as the USA, Germany, France, and so on.
Altogether, this turned out to be the most beautiful day ever. After coming back to this precious building for the second time, I experienced it differently because now as a grown-up, I understood some things better. So from now on, rainy days like yesterday won't stop me from going out and enjoying other valuable places Kosovo has to offer.
