Seeing the past through a glass

 Wandering through that mysterious, dark yet calming beautiful place I went through a rollercoaster of emotions. Besides the beautiful pieces, clothes, jewelry and everything displayed in this museum, I saw the pain, the happiness, imagined the way people looked and felt very emotional. As soon as I entered and set foot in the museum I found myself thinking about why I had never been there even though I went past that place almost everyday. Maybe because I couldn't believe that the inside of this ordinary looking building from the outside would be that breathtaking. 

People using tools of this kind such as dishes and weapons is fascinating but on the other hand makes me think of how simple life was at that time. At that time even though life must have been hard on other aspects people weren't keen on those fancy things, fancy equipment, clothes and everything. Seeing the beautiful jewelry I was at a loss of words. I was thinking how gorgeous the women at that time must have felt wearing such beautiful pieces of jewelry and how I would feel stunning too if I wore them. Good thing we couldn't touch them because the temptation to try them on was definitely there.

The place that made me feel the saddest I've been in a while was the floor filled with clothes, weapons, and many other things left from the war in Kosovo. in that moment going through the information displayed besides every thing I couldn't help but think of the stories I've heard from my parents and relatives and felt so emotional thinking of what people have gone through for us to posses the freedom we have now. I felt guilty too, as if  it was my fault that they lost their lives for our future to be bright. I even felt like I don't deserve this freedom and the life I have thanks to the people who lost their everything. We shall forever be thankful.

Besides all the mixed feelings we experienced during this great trip we had so much fun together. We had a guide explaining everything to us even though everything was labeled and everything we needed to know for every single object was written near each item. Exploring places like this one will definitely be in our list from now on.
